Anjuthengu/ Anchuthengu , formerly known as Anjengo, is a coastal town near Kadakkavoor in Thiruvananthapuram District of Kerala. Kumbhavurutty Waterfalls is a beautiful natural falls situated 7 Kms away from the Achankovil & located very near to famous Courtallam Falls. It is located on the Achankovil - Shencottah Road of Kollam district, Kerala. This 25 m high fall nestles in charming surroundings enveloped by luxuriant foliage. The Kerala Forest Department has started an Eco-Contact Centre here. The travelers can see wild animals also if lucky because the waterfall is very close to the thick Konni Forest area.

The Pallipuram Fort is located in Pallippuram, on the northern extremity of the Vypin Island in the Ernakulam district of Kerala in southern India. The Portuguese built the mighty fort in 1503 and today, it stands majestically as the oldest surviving European monument in India.

The Palakkad Fort in Kerala is a beautiful historical monument that has gently integrated its high walls with its surrounding green gardens. One of the most well-preserved forts in the state of Kerala, the Palakkad fort was built in the 1766 AD by Hyder Ali and is now a protected monument under the Archaeological Survey of India.

Built by the first Portuguese Viceroy in India, Don Francesco de Almeida (1505), St. Angelo’s Fort is among the most historic sites in Kannur. This massive triangular laterite structure is flanked by gigantic bastions that make for an imposing sight. It changed hands between the Dutch and eventually the British, who would remodel and reequip it into their primary military stronghold in Malabar.

Built almost 300 years ago, Bekal Fort is considered as one of the largest and most preserved forts in Kerala. Nestled in the lap of nature, Bekal Fort is a historic fort surrounded by a beautiful beach offering an enchanting view of Arabian Sea from its high observation tower where the cannons were placed. The beautiful walkway, illuminated beach and the grand architecture of the Bekal Fort make this place a favourite among the masses.

In the hilly reaches of Kasaragod district, people are used to seeing impressive forts at almost every turn, built both as military bastions and important centres for commercial and cultural activities. In Kanhangad lies the Hosdurg Fort, among the legendary chain of forts built by Somashekara Nayak of Ikkeri Dynasty. Lying nearby is the internationally renowned spiritual centre, the Nithyananda Ashram. About 15km from Bekal, these form an intriguing set of places that add to Kasaragod’s charm.
