You can swim and bathe in the middle of a green environment and get a refreshing as well as relaxed feeling after an adventurous trek. After walking for about 4 km from Olakkayam Waterfall, one comes across the Ilanjippara Waterfall which still showcases its virgin beauty with the site offering a tranquil escape.
The place with this abundance of flora and fauna offers some breathtaking views of the dense forest. Both waterfalls offer a wonderful view of nature’s beauty at its best with the waters falling from a cluster of rocks to a gorge below. The waterfalls play host to elephants during the summer season. It is best to venture there in groups, especially to the Ilanjippara waterfalls in order to avoid any dangerous encounters.
Marottichal Ilanjippara Waterfalls or simply Ilanjippara Waterfalls is the largest & the scenic of both the waterfalls. Ilanjippara Waterfalls is about 4km from Olakkayam Waterfalls. The stream flowing down the rocks inside the forest offers a mesmerizing feeling for nature loving people. We need to trek through the forest around 4 km in order to reach the waterfalls. The trek continues through the walkway of wild elephants so visitors need to be careful when passing through this area as you may not notice them all the time. And it’s always advisable to go in groups as multiple pathways exist and some will confuse you for sure.
The best time to visit Ilanjippara Waterfall is between September and February right after the heavy monsoon rains.
